Plumb: In My Arms
From LoveToKnow Music
One of the latest by musical artist Plumb, "In My Arms" is a popular track off her album 'Blink.' The song is leaving fans in love with still another new sound from this eclectic contemporary Christian artist.
About Plumb
Born Tiffany Lee Arbuckle, the artist's initial records were marketed as a band with the name Plumb, derived from the Suzanne Vega song "My Favorite Plum". She kept the name Plumb when she signed to Curb Records in 2003 as a solo artist.
The singer/songwriter, like a number of contemporary Christian music artists, has many songs that easily cross over into other musical sectors such as rock, alternative rock, and pop-rock. Her music has also appeared in various mainstream television and film venues. She has a distinctive voice, but has experimented with various musical styles throughout her career, from dance mixes to edgier rock sounds to her album Blink which features lyrically moving songs, such as In My Arms, with a "lullabyesque" feel.
Plumb: In My Arms - Capturing a Mother's Heart
Combining Roles: Musician and Mommy
Like many of her songs, which she refers to almost as 'live journals,' "In My Arms" reflects Plumb's personal experiences. The first single off the 2007 release 'Blink,' "In My Arms" was recorded when Plumb's son Solomon was a baby and she was pregnant with her second son, Oliver Lee.
Melodic Music, Beautiful Lyrics
The track inspired by Plumb's own journey into motherhood captures an incredible amount of emotion in its haunting notes. The song is clearly written from a mother's perspective. While the joy of being a mother and noticing the small aspects of a child ("Your baby blues so full of wonder/ Your curly cues/ Your contagious smile") is obviously is expressed, the song is laced with the knowledge of the inevitable - the child will grow up. In so doing, will face the storms of life.
The innocence of childhood - the insatiable love of fantasy and the wonder of life, is similarly juxtaposed with the reality that all too soon the child will grow up and know the truth of life. Both musically and lyrically, the song captures an incredible moment in the mother-child relationship in the chorus: "Clouds will rage in/ Storms will race in/ But you will be safe in my arms…" However fleeting, in that moment, a mother's arms provide the warmth and safety as a child needs.
Going Deeper
As a singer unashamed of her Christian faith, Plumb also reveals that "In My Arms" expresses love from another perspective - the love God shared through his son Jesus. After marriage and children, she began a better understanding of how deep God's love really is, and "In My Arms" not only reflects a mother's love for her children, but the love of a Father who will never forsake his children:
"… we are all in God's arms. Safe. It may not be safe in the way we comprehend safety at times...he did not promise a life without pain...but that through it he would hold us…" (From Plumb's MySpace Blog.)
In My Arms Remix
Although Plumb's "In My Arms" is popular in its original version, it is also a hit in its remix version. Not surprising from a diverse artist who touches on the Dance/ Electronica realm along with other musical genres, the In My Arms remix (remixed by Scotty K, Bronleewe & Bose, Gomi, and Bimbo Jones) achieved number one status on the Billboard Dance Charts.

You belive in something that doesnt exist. Dont waste thoughts on great songs that have nothing to do with religion. You should be thinking about your kids, not some god while listing to this. do us a favor spend more time with the kids, less on the bible, and do your homework before you try to push that religious stuff on your children.
