Mykill Aresco

Mykill (Mike) Aresco is the drummer of the band Dead Skin Mask and formerly of Lost Soul. Mykill is from Central Connecticut. The bands he has been a part of through out the years range from unknown to moderate fame level.

Mykill Aresco Biography

Starting out at the age of 12, Mike is a self taught musician. Initially starting on guitar at 9 then pursued percussive detonation (drums). The first known band was Gridlock. This band existed from 1992-1994. Members were Frank Thomas, Mik Monti and Mike Dicaprio. They would gain only a small amount of notoriety in the New England scene.
LOST SOUL was the band Mike played drums for. Lost Soul was formed in 1989 by Anthony (Tony) Mica and Charles (Charlie) Burke. Guitarist Bryan Reilly was scouted and signed in 1993, 1 year before Mike joined the band. In 1994 they would record and release a 3 song self-titled EP. (Though it officially is with out name, some mistakenly refer to it as "The New Breed of Metal EP".) Lost Soul gained an impressive following in the TRI-STATE / New England area performing a large number of shows between 1994 and 1998. The band was known for having violent fans, at times, ruining shows due to local Law Enforcement intervention. (Most noted show for violence was the Meriden VFW show 1/27/1996.)

Lost Soul

Mike would leave Lost Soul in October 1998, and in 1999 Mark Alteri would join. Lost Soul released a single composed with Mike from 1996 in 1999 with Mark as their new drummer. It is 99.9% just the way Mike wrote the drums with minimal changes, percussively. They would eventually get signed to a record label, only to disband at the last moment. (The reasons are only speculative.)
2003 would bring the end of Lost Soul.

Sa Sanctuary

In April 2000 Mike moved to Texas with hopes of landing the open Sa Sanctuary drummer spot. Auditions began in May 2000 and had numerous local hopefuls each of the 5 days of the tryouts. By the end of May, Mike was picked and became their next drummer. The band got signed in 2002 by Roidrage Recordings with their 2001 demo, Abandon In Place. Unfortunately, November 2006, Mike had to leave.
