About Linkin Park

A rock band originating from Agoura Hills, California Linkin Park has earned their success over the last decade. Although their early years were filled with some tensions and frustrations, the band's 2000 release of Hybrid Theory began paving the way for greater success - the project was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005. Along with the success of subsequent releases Meteora (2003) and Minutes to Midnight (2007), the band is known for successful collaboration projects including Reanimation (2002) and Collision Course (2004) with Jay-Z.

Prior to the release of Minutes to Midnight, the group also became involved with a variety of charity events and spent time on side projects and collaborations The band's musical style in the early albums reflects nu metal and hip hop styles, while more current hits are typically classified in the rock or alternative rock genres. Like many talented bands, Linkin Park proves that their success is not limited to a strictly defined genre, but their musical talent is versatile and continues to evolve. Linkin Park has been awarded 2 grammy awards and has sold over fifty million albums during their musical career thus far.

Described as simple, but hard-hitting, the song has proven a favorite among fans. The deviation to a more mellow style than their usual sound has worked in favor of Linkin Park, illustrated their ability to create incredible songs outside their signature rock genre. Hailed as brilliant and beautiful, the song offers a powerful musical resonance and meaningful lyrics. Although fans may differ in their opinions of what type of experience the lyrics are referring to, central to the song are themes of love and regret.

Implication of Hope

The title and lyrics also can arguably imply a message of hope, however, with December being the last month of the year and on the verge of a fresh new start.
