Find Music Lyrics
From LoveToKnow Music
Whether you're dying to sing along with your favorite songs or you want to delve deeper into the poetic language of a particular piece, LoveToKnow Music is here to help you find music lyrics.
How to Find Music Lyrics
Some musicians include lyric booklets in their CD releases. These are especially useful because they're the official lyrics released by the band or artist, so you know they're accurate. However, in this age of music downloads, you're not always going to have a CD in front of you. What about that catchy single you've been hearing on the radio?
Music Lyrics Online
In most cases, the best place to find music lyrics is online. Between huge lyrics databases, fan pages, and official band websites, you're sure to find the lyrics to any song you desire. The following are just a few of the many websites dedicated to music lyrics:
- Lyrics.com - Search by album, artist, or song to find a huge collection of music lyrics. Along with providing lyrics, the site links to YouTube music videos when available. There is a commenting feature, but it can be overrun with chain letter posts and random shout-outs instead of commentary on the music.
- A-Z Lyrics Universe features a lyrics request section, along with the ability to add your own lyrics and correct lyrics you find on the site. Check the site news for recently added lyrics. A reviews section is a unique feature you don't see on most lyrics sites.
- Yahoo! Music integrates lyrics with other features, so you can also listen to samples of the songs, download them, read artist bios, find out the latest news on the band, check out photos, watch music videos, and more. Unlike other sites, Yahoo Music allows users to turn explicit lyrics on and off.
- Christian Music Lyrics is fairly self-explanatory. While most other sites may include a few of the more mainstream Christian bands like Jars of Clay, this site fills the gap, while also giving listeners a place where they don't have to worry about stumbling across potentially offensive content. An online forum rounds out the experience for visitors.
- Lyrics Search Engine doesn't have the commenting features of other sites, but it does allow users to rate songs, email songs to friends, and create printable versions of the lyrics without the ever-present ads. Even though it's billed as a search engine, you can also browse the lyrics by artist name.
- Lyricspedia is dedicated to providing lyrics to songs of all genres. The presentation is simple, with no commenting or other special features. Check out the most-visited musicians, view the latest additions, or search for a specific song.
- '80s Music Lyrics is another self-explanatory site. It also offers other nostalgic treats like '80s arcade games.
- Lyrics Freak offers an extensive A-Z directory of artists. You can also browse the lists of "Top 100 Lyrics," "Top 100 Albums," and "Top 100 Artists."
- Lyrics Plugin is a piece of software that works along with WinAmp and Windows Media Player to provide lyrics for the songs you play.
- Goodwin Music focuses on country music lyrics, archiving some songs on its own pages and providing links to other sources when available.
Helpful Search Tip
If you're looking for a specific song, using a search engine may be more efficient than visiting several different sites to find music lyrics. For the best results, input your search as: +lyrics +"Name of Song" +"Name of Artist or Band". Omit the name of the song if you are interested in finding sites dedicated to a single band or musician.

can anyone tell me the name of the song and who performed it please. It goes something like you gotta get up, get up get up and dance. You dig the music and you dig the beat, You get to moving your boogie woogie feet. It came out in the 70's disco era. Any ideas?
-- Contributed by: markI found the greatest song on the internet once but it didn't have the artist or album. It was titled "Jump the Moon". Its lyrics: "If I asked you to jump the moon would you hold my hand, away we'll fly where no one can see all the desire between you and me, say no more its time for us to go on a trip away from all we know I'll hold your hand and our love will grow, steal away the night, the day and only you and I will see, the love between you and me, the love between you and me." The song is played on an acoustic guitar. Total time 2 minutes. Can anyone tell me where to find this recording?
