About Brad Paisley

Brad Paisley was born Brad Douglas Paisley on October 28th, 1972 in Glen Dale, West Virginia. When Brad was twelve, he wrote his first song. His interest in music continued througout his teens and he was awarded a full ASCAP scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville, TN. He soon received a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing (the company is a world-known music publishing contract company).

Soon after, Brad Paisley began his career with Arista Nashville. He also had his first number one hit in 2000 with "He Didn't Have to Be." Additionally, he won a Country Music Association award for best new male vocalist. He also received a Grammy nomination that year.

In the years that following, he continued to win Country Music Association award for Music Video of the Year (with the track "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song)"). He also had several chart topping singles with "I Wish You'd Stay," "Two People Fell in Love" and "Mud on the Tires" (which reached number 1).

In 2005, Paisley's career got even brighter. After a successful tour with Reba McEntire and Terri Clark, Paisley released the album "Time Well Wasted" and contributed two songs to the Disney film Cars. He also received several Grammy nominations for "Time Well Wasted."

In 2007, Paisley released "5th Gear." The album featured singles "Ticks," "Letter To Me," "Online," and "I'm Still A Guy." The album was a popular success and was nominated for three Grammy awards. A Grammy for Best Country Instrumental was won in February of 2008 for "Throttleneck."

After a summer of touring, a new album was released in November of 2008 called "Play." The album is mostly instrumental and features duets from other popular country artists.

Paisley has also won several Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, Flameworthy/CMT Music Aware and American Music Awards. His awards shelf seems to grow with each album that he releases.

Personal Life

In 2000, Brad Paisley began to date Kimberly Williams. An actress, Williams has appeared in popular movies Father of the Bride 1 and 2, The War at Home and How to Eat Fried Worms. In March of 2003 the two married on the campus of Pepperdine University. Their first child was born in February of 2007. They are expecting another child in 2009 to accompany son William Huckleberry Paisley.
